"Arabella," Cindy Miriam, the snotty, stuck -up instructor snapped at me. "Arabella, if i've told you once, i've told you a thousand times. Smile. You're taking pictures in a photoshoot, not taking a mugshot. When you're through with school, grown up and taking actual pictures for actual ads, do you want to see your client take one look at your pictures and frown? No." she let out a flustered, exaggerated sigh. "The only picture you want to look depressing is one you're taking just to get out of a job."
I tried to keep the aloof look on my face as i pondered her last comment. Cindy was famous for two things: her magnificent taste for poses, and the way she constantly says things that make no sense. I mean honestly, what was that supposed to mean? Was she trying to insult me? With Cindy, you honestly never knew.
The photographer snapped a few practice pictures of me, then stopped and let out an irritated sigh as Cindy marched over to me. "Arabella! You did not get a full-year scholarship to London Fashion Academy so that you could fail out of a class. She turned around and strode back over to her spot by the photographer. She shot me a stern look. "And yes, that is a threat." she mumbled something about not being afraid to fail someone who deserved it, then took a long drink of her peppermint tea. "Hurry it up. I've got another student coming in to take some photos with you--I would like to see how you work in a multi-person photoshoot."
I nodded slightly, then put my hands on my hips and shifted my weight to my other foot, and gave a mysterious smile to the camera. Snap.
